With a little experience under our belt we decided to plant additional trees bringing our total up to four hundred trees, with more on the way this spring. If all goes as expected this year should be one of our largest crops to date. With our crop increasing each year, one day while working in our avocado grove we talked of new and different ideas to market our farm fresh avocados. Old Julian Avocado Co. is a new original company that combines farm fresh California Hass Avocados with handcrafted south of the border design. We thought it was time for a change from the ordinary fruit and gift basket ideas. Our gift crates do just that. At this time we are in the start up stages. Since our site launch back in December, the response has been wonderful. We are now in the process of adding additional product options and promotions to promote both our business and the California Avocado, the center of our gift crates. Our family owned and operated farm, Old Julian Avocado is located in the rolling hills of San Diego County in the unincorporated city of Ramona. It all started back in 2000 upon moving into our new property which happened to have an abandoned Hass Avocado grove on it. After countless hours of research, we decided to make a go of it. Little did we know the amount of time and hard work that goes into maintaining a productive avocado grove. After months of pruning, irrigation maintenance and consulting with other avocado growers, the trees started to improve greatly.
